Now I think that Internet recruitment is good way of recruitment. Why? Because is cheaper (spend less money than traditional recruitment) and faster (you have to print nothing and you send your advertisement on the web page and in few minutes just read it).
Now situatution is: 2 candidates - "young" and "old" one. Who win?

It was big misunderstanding ... that candidate of course. I was waiting for this man,
but he did not come. "Why? - I said when I was calling him. Because - he said - now I am using another e-mail address from that I wrote in my CV."

3rd interview

Tommorow will be 3rd interview. Earlier I have sent an e-mail to candidate with all necessary information about appointment. Maybe he will be the best man.

The Ugly man has entered. 33 years old, polytechnic graduate, he likes fishing in freetime (somebody tells me what is fascinating in fishing? because I do not know... ok, it does not matter). He would like to go to Master Business Administration program (what? - AMEBA? - next ambitious man ... God bless you).
But... he was interesting. He was calm, self-confident, answered brief, businesslike. After 3 candidates presentations, in my opinion he was the best.
On 2th October it will be next contestant.

Tough is not enough

Second candidates. Tough guy, tall and he was looked like judo contestant or wrestler. He is 48, polytechnic graduate and also postgraduate studies. Curriculum Vitae looks great, many years professional experience (but!!! in only one company), two languages (we were speaking in one), good knowledge of computer programs. But, I think he did not want to change the job, he wanted to present only his own person and CV. And, what was strange - he had computer presentation about his present employer (it has happend first time in my life) - many, many pages of boring presentation. But after that "amazing" presentation he was terrified when we were walking around the company (especially production department). I do not really know why, there are only 1 thousand people.
Sorry "tough guy" - tough is not enough.

An appointment

K.D., aged 33, first candidate. He was enthusiastic, knew much about new technologies, Internet
and marketing, higher education in Economics, not fluent in English... but he wanted to present himself only. He was not suitable for this position. I am looking for production top manager (I have not mentioned that earlier, but all applicants knew about it). I think he was sales manager rather than production manager.

I think I have not used all possibilities of "Package 1" to recruit. Maybe next recruitment. In the meantime my advertisement on agency web page expired. Tommorow I will have an apointment with first candidate. I do not
really think he will suitable, but we will see.

Back from Sweden. Very nice people ... especially bus drivers.
In Sweden you can see elks on the road, interesting architecture (The Old Town in Stockholm of course) and cleanliness in city centre.
I recommend you sightseeing by boat (the classic way to see Stockholm).
Ok, now I am going to back to reality.

Selection, the best part of my job .... ok, it was a joke of course. But... I shot two applicants and I sent them e-mail "Thank you for your applications but...etc.". After that I chose six other candidates and I proposed them an appointment. To be frank only three applicants seems to be suitable for that job, others - maybe.

Time to end my first part of recruitment. Maybe next time it wil be more canditates than now. Right now - eight applicants have asked for a job and have sent me letters of application and curriculum vitae.

Here, we are. There are three more candidates (only three). In the meantime I had two more phone call from recruitment agencies. I really do not like talk with headhunters, on the other hand, I started to get accustomed. I have not
thought that in Poland were so many recruitment agencies. But, I nearly forgot all about my three candidates "Buono, il brutto, il cattivo". Maybe someone has got a good chance to get this job.

Another agency, one woman

I had a call... yes, another recrutiment agency. They are everywhere, it is amazing, but I am not looking for any agency.
There was one woman also who send me an e-mail. She wrote 'I am not looking fo top management position, but I am looking for any job, I can do it everything'. Nice, but my company is looking for top management candidate.

"Yes, yes, yes"- as somebody said, success!. First answers ... but (always is "but") from two other recrutiment agencies. They offered me their recrutiment services. Sorry, but I was not interested in such answers.

One call, one fax - second step

I phoned to my personal assistant to Internet recruitment agency. She (really nice voice) send me e-mail with a draft of agreement. I signed it and sent it by fax. In the meantime I prepared text of advertisement (looking for top management employee) and send it by e-mail to Internet recruitment agency. They was really fast because at the same day they prepared job advertisement and posted it on the Internet recruitment agency web page.

First contact

I sent an e-mail to the Internet recruitment agency and asked them about their service . At the same time I posted an job advertisement on my company web page. A woman from Internet recruitment agency wrote me an e-mail including an offer. There was much more options that I was thinking. The offer contained:

Package1 (2 advertisements on agency web page with 4 weeks expiry date, preparing adverisement by agency, access to 50 candidates CV base and sending recruitment e-mail's service to selected registred agency's users)
Package2 (4 advertisements on agency web page with 4 weeks expiry date, preparing adverisement by agency, access to 100 candidates CV base and sending recruitment e-mail's service to selected registred agency's users).

There was only 1 difference between Package1 and Package2 - price certainly.

How can I recruit the best candidate on the top management position? Of course, I can use traditional way such as advertise in newspapers, journals or by headhunters agency. I used to do so. This time I am going to use only the power of Internet - "career market on the internet".
